UPDATE: As of Thursday evening (the 18th), this event has been moved to Sunday October 21st, due to poor expected weather conditions on Saturday.
At this time, I will be unable to make the rescheduled event, due to prior commitments.
In recent months, I’ve been busy scheming to develop a new business. This endeavor will be unveiled shortly – and I am over the moon excited about it – but meanwhile, autumn is upon us.
For a food-centric individual such as myself, that means a constant parade of apples, cinnamon and other spices such as nutmeg and allspice, as well as various pumpkins and squash. These foodstuffs dance around in my mind, into my kitchen, and onto my plate with charming regularity.
For who doesn’t love a good seasonal dish or treat?
This Saturday, October 20th, I’ll be giving a cooking demonstration at Took a Leap Farm’s fall Harvest Celebration in Houlton. Festivities begin at 10am. I will demo several recipes, including the Swirly Goat Cheese Brownies you see here, from around 10:30 to 11. And while I sadly won’t be able to stick around for the plethora of fun activities to come later in the day (I have a little girl’s birthday party to get to!), there is going to be a lot going on.
A beekeeper! A soapmaker! Fibre artists! Woodturners! Photographers! Cider pressing!
And of course, Took a Leap Farm’s darling goats, including Buttermilk Sky, innocent kid turned internet phenomenon who introduced Houlton to the rest of the world.
So please join me, for a cooking demo – and lots of taste testing! – this Saturday at 10:30 in Houlton.
