Join Me For Cool Scoops: An Ice Cream Making Workshop

Due to current goat hardships at Took a Leap Farm, this course has been put on hold. Stay tuned…

Love ice cream? Looking to learn how to wow your family and friends with delicious no-fail ice cream recipes? Look no further.

Together with Kathryn Harnish, she of the wonderful goat cheese at Took a Leap Farm, I will be hosting Cool Scoops, an ice cream making class in Houlton on Saturday, July 28th.

Ice Cream Macaronwiches originally featured here.

This four-hour class will dish up the know-how on making frozen treats perfect for cooling you down on a hot summer day. Recipes will be provided for participants to take home, and the afternoon will finish with a sundae station, complete with the ice creams du jour, homemade toppings, and yummy accoutrements. Everyone will return home with some of the ice cream they worked to create during the day’s activities.

Concerned that ice cream making is out of your reach, because you don’t own an ice cream maker? Not to worry. There will be recipes made both with and without an ice cream maker, because – and my secret is revealed – I normally make all of my ice cream in a pan in the freezer (including the custard chocolate ice cream featured in the sandwich cookies above).

We’ll use Took a Leap Farm’s goat milk, and locally-sourced organic O’Meara Family Farm’s cow milk during Cool Scoops, along with other fresh ingredients. No unnecessary preservatives or genetically-modified monster cows here!

If you are interested, please refer to this link to sign up for the class, which will take place from 1-5 pm on Saturday, July 28th at Took a Leap Farm. We would love to see you there!
